This 12 page mini unit centers around input/output tables, missing information, number patterns, & geometric patterns. There are addition/subtraction function tables, as well as multiplication/division ones. It involves massive amounts of problem solving skills including finding input, output, and/or finding the rule. There is even a "writing to explain" and application piece. The monster theme makes function tables NOT SO SCARY to learn! :-)
Thank you for putting in all of the hard work to make this so appealing to kids. My kids really struggled just using input/output tables, but once we tired it with the "monsters", they caught right on.
I love the monsters, too! Thanks for your feedback! Appreciated!

Graphics are adorable! :) Function machines can be a tricking concept, but these adorable monster graphics reeled my kiddos right in and they enjoyed the challenge of the various machines. Thank you!
Function machines are a difficult concept, but this Math center activity will really help differentiate instruction. The graphics are adorable too! Thanks.
Hey Patti, me too, which is exactly why I created them. I created them so I could do some WITH the students and guide their learning, and have enough for them to try independently. I love the monsters. They're a hoot! :-) Thanks so much for the feedback!
