MY CART
You will need to cut the cards apart for the students to take part in the matching activity. I also highly recommend printing them on cardstock and/or laminating the cards so they can be used from year to year. I store them in plastic baggies for that very reason!
The genre and definition to be matched include: genre, mystery, biography, autobiography, traditional literature, fantasy, realistic fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, poetry, and nonfiction (informational text).
**Keep an original copy around to use as an answer key!**

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have PreK-6th grade experience. I started my teaching adventure by accident. My major was business and electronic commerce, but I started working part-time at a preschool during college. That job made me realize what I was truly meant to do! This fall I will begin teaching 6th grade. However, in the past I have taught Kindergarten, Reading Recovery, Title I math and reading, 5th grade inclusion special education, and a multi-grade classroom of ELL students. I was also the overseer of my first school's special education department. I also teach Asian students during the evenings, weekends, and summer.
