This activity has students matching landform pictures to definitions or allows them to draw their own versions. Students then cut pages in half and arrange them in alphabetical order, create an index and then assemble for their own mini-booklet. Covers, desert, valley, hill, peninsula, volcano, sea, plain, continent, river, mountain, plateau, island, lake, ocean, and prairie.
This was a great activity to reinforce the landforms we were learning. It wasn't always super clear which picture matched each landform, but that gave us the opportunity to discuss more about each landform and work together to finish the book. Thanks!
This was a good resource but my school only has black & white printing so I had to make it work with the pictures being in black and white, which was then difficult for some of my students to determine what landforms they were.
I am sorry the pictures couldn't be better. I don't print it out in color for my students, but do have one color sample that they can compare their pictures to if that will help.

My kids LOVED this, especially the photos. Very usable for different levels, too.
Thanks so much for the feedback! I've created a "game show" to go with it...Who wants to be a millionaire? with the same photos and definitions. It works great for me in the classroom, but would like to have it tested with others before I post it. Email me if you would like me to send it to you to test out! weberhe@lovelandschools.org
