This is an EXTREMELY visual activity for teaching basic geography terms (see below). You may consider purchasing the assessment that goes along with this activity.
The power point contains 36 slides and 16 vocabulary terms, including: Canyon, Bay, Isthmus, Cataract, Delta, Island, Pangaea, Butte, Mesa, Plateau, Plains, Volcano, Mountain, Glacier, Strait, and Peninsula.
Each vocabulary word is preceded by a photograph representing that term. This makes teaching the terms EXTREMELY visual. Show the students the picture, then on the next slide reveal the vocabulary term and definition. This could also be an excellent review game, where students are split into teams and must compete to "name that term" after seeing just a picture. Each color photograph is extremely vibrant and eye-catching, and take up the entire slide. Your students will enjoy this power point and will learn important geography terms with ease!

Phenomenal pictures to illustrate the different geography vocabulary terms. I can't wait to use this next year when I teach landforms. This is fantastic! P.S. I would have paid for this product, but I am really thankful it was free!

I am a highly certified language arts and social studies teacher, and have taught in California, Kansas, and currently North Carolina. I received a BS in secondary English education, and have worked as a language arts teacher in three schools, improving writing test scores by 30% in one year! I have taken additional course work and exams to be highly qualified in secondary social studies as well, a subject I have fallen in love with as a teacher!
