This project require students to pick travel destinations and completely prepare a travel package. Cross-curricular components make this a wonderful end of year or end of semester project. Students are required to make internet or phone contacts for travel packages and some of my students have received wonderful things from some of their chosen destinations. Research activity includes location statistics, history and tourism information. Travel information also required including flight information, hotel stays, and other estimated expenses. Written summary of fictional trip is good practice in creative writing. Rubric included. I have used this assignment in many geography units in middle and high school classes, mostly advanced levels due to the out of class requirements.
