This mini unit on 3 dimensional figures covers pyramids and prisms, as well as the concepts of faces, edges, vertices, and "nets" (3D figures that have been "flattened out" on paper and can be folded up to transform from 2D to 3D). These activities are hands on and accompanied by worksheets for students to explain their thinking as they work. These sheets make informal assessment easier for the teacher too!

*7 pages of three dimensional figure nets (pentagonal prism, triangular prism, rectangular prism, square prism/cube, square pyramid, rectangular prism, pentagonal prism).

Useful activities and neat appearance. Problem: There are two net sheets labeled "rectangular prism", and one of them is a triangular pyramid.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been a fourth grade teacher at the same school for 7 years, where I teach presently. I taught third grade in a charter school for 3 years. Prior to my full time teaching career I was a paraprofessional for a teacher of the deaf for grades 1 and 2 for a year, and a preschool teacher for 2 years.
