Shapes in Our World: Triangles is another in the series of interactive whiteboard activities designed to help K-2nd grade students develop an understanding of 2-D geometric shapes. Each page of the 3 work pages allow students different ways to explore attributes of triangles. These 3 pages will take students 10-20 minutes to complete. The final discuss and record knowledge page allows students to share their understanding of the attributes of a square. It allows the teacher to clarify any confusion the students might have. The final slide provides objects, teacher notes and lesson notes to help implement the lesson. The entire lesson is about 30 minutes.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Ed-U-Smart is the education store that I've dreamed of creating for years. Children's imaginations inspired the character Edison U. Ratio Smart, the character behind Ed-U-Smart. Both of these are my "public" face. A bit about my, "private" face and experience follows below. I have 25 years of teaching experience in elementary schools. I have taught 1st-4th grade, gifted education, technology classes and math/technology classes. I am passionate about stretching children's brains. I love helping them reach new heights of learning and understanding. I firmly believe that any concept or idea is within all children's grasp. You just have to find the way they'll understand it. I love that challenge of "finding the way."
