This is George Washington's Fakebook (Facebook) page that includes status update of various quotes taken from his life. When I use this page in my classroom I have my students pick a couple of the quotes to journal about explaining why they chose the quote, what does it mean, and how can they apply it to their life.
I also use this in my history class to check student's understanding. I will have them write out what events were going on around the time Washington made this "status update."
I also added pictures of various events from George Washington's life. These two pages will have your students asking a number of questions about Washington and his life. My students are generally the most curious about his teeth!

I love this! I've had my students create facebook pages of historical or famous people in the past, and it was always a hit. I love how this gives a clear timeline that kids of today can really relate to. Cool product.

I love this activity. It can be modified for students to complete a facebook page for anyone in history. Students can also identify with it and will love doing it. My students will be doing this assignment this year.

I think this George Washington FB page is amazing! I was wondering if you have a template that you used to input the information. I am a Canadian teacher, George Washington applies to us as well, however, it doesn't apply as much as say Alexander Graham Bell would or Lincoln Alexander, etc. I can also see using the template to have kids create their own fb page after researching a famous figure. I'd really appreciate hearing back from you on this wonderful resource!
