These materials are designed for an 8th grade social studies class in Georgia history. The power point slide "chunks" [breaks it down] the essay for the students and includes several short writing exercises. The sample essay is on the topic, "What role did Georgia play in World War II?" The zip file will include the power point and two versions of the essay, one without sample answers to the writing exercises and one with sample answers. The sample answers are in bold and underlined. I used this essay and power point to model essay writing for the students prior to asking them to create their own essay.

Our county uses the text Georgia and the American Experience by Clairmont Press. If your county uses a different text, you will need to change the two page numbers in the power point. The historical information should be the same regardless of text, but your text might have it presented in a slightly different way or include additional information. So, if your students do have a different text, I would recommend comparing the essay to your text prior to using it in the classroom.
