Small Reading Group Lesson Plan for each chapter!
LONG-TERM-
Throughout my next 12 week session with the students I plan to keep a folder for each of them containing their anecdotal notes and reading logs I collected during their focused days. I will also keep their running records in each folder as well. These tools along with verbal questions, will give me the information to tell if they are understanding the GLI, which is the ability to fluently read with appropriate changes in voice, timing and expression. I would also like to tape record each student’s reading. I can then calculate how many words per minute they read and evaluate their fluency.
Ohio Academic Content Standards K-12 English Language Arts:
Standard #1: Phonemic Awareness, Word Recognition and Fluency.
Grade 2 Indicator: #10- Read passages fluently with appropriate changes in voice, timing and expression.
