This is a fast-paced math game that practices fluency with addition facts to 20. This game is great for a small group or guided math lesson! Once students are familiar with the game, they can play in groups at a math station/math tub.
Directions: Distribute gingerbread house cards evenly to players. Players should leave their cards face up in front of them. All gingerbread man cards are placed in a pile face down in front of the teacher or caller. The teacher flips a card over one at a time and calls out the addition problem. Players solve the problem mentally. If the player has a gingerbread house card with the correct answer on it he/she should slap the card and say Poof! If correct, the cards are matched and set aside. The first player to poof all of his/her cards is the winner.
