Give the Dog a Bone! is a different way to introduce and practice beginning multiplication using a hands-on approach. Children use the pictures and fact cards to give the right amount of bones to the dogs. An easy to read and follow direction card is provided to guide learners through the steps of multiplying "bones times dogs". For example: 4 dogs X 2 bones each = 8 bones.
This activity, created by Terry Palmieri and enthusiastically used by 2nd graders, is printer-ready to provide a center or small group session as an alternative to the traditional textbook pages and worksheets.
