According to Dr. Timothy Rasinski, "the words in these phrases come from Dr. Edward Fry's Instant Word List (High Frequency Words). According to Fry, the first 300 words in the list represent about 67% of all the words students encounter in their reading."
These cards use the 6th and final set of 100 Fry words. I did not create the phrases. I simply turned them into a classroom tool. You will notice a number on each card. This is to help you keep sets organized within your classroom.
I use these as an alternative to sight word cards in my classroom. I also use them as a whole group class game called "BANG!"
I've included materials for tracking student progress and additional instructions for another phrase practice game.
