This Lotus Diagram is fantastic for taking notes about a particular subject, broken down further with subheadings or topic areas. It can be used digitally or as a hard copy. It is best used on a display such as an Interactive Whiteboard or blown up to A3 to optimize the writing area.
It is particularly useful when note-taking for an Information Report. It allows students to group related ideas from the beginning, which saves time when it comes to writing. It can also help them see how the information is related.
There is an example of how to use the chart on the last page. The overall topic goes in the very middle square. The subheadings or topics go in the colours (same colour = same heading). Then the notes go in the corresponding boxes.
Note: All the boxes do not always have to be filled!
This organizer is a note-taking and planning tool for writing all in one!
