I created this power point for use in my classroom. It is all ready to go and student tested. This power point includes Lesson Essential Questions, if you are interested in Learning Focused Strategies. This presentation is an introduction to quadratic vocabulary as well as a lesson on graphing. There are two graphic organizers embedded in the presentation on graphing in standard form and vertex form. Also addressed is maximum and minimum values and y-intercepts. Throughout the instruction provided by the presentation, students will be required to create quadratic models both in standard and vertex form.
I created this with my Prentice Hall Algebra 2 text in mind. It covers PH chapters 5.1-5.3.
Some of the slides have assignments on them from this text. If you do not use the series, you could easily adapt the assignments to cover your text book series. You must have Word with Math Type to view all equations.
Please see my additional listings for corresponding quizzes and a test.

I am in my sixth year of teaching. My certification is in Math grades 7-12. I began teaching in an IB/Magnet High School in Rochester, NY where I taught Precalculus, Computer Programming, and Math A. After 2 successful years, my family moved to Florida where we could enjoy the sunshine year round. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching in a suburban High School in Florida. In addition to teaching Geometry, Algebra, and AP Calculus AB, I co-chair the math department. I am currently working on my National Board Certification.
