Note: The word "favourite" is used several times in this pack so I have included a copy of those pages with the spelling changed to "favorite." You will find these on the last 8 pages.
Request: Someone requested that I make a graphing unit that wasn't "season/holiday" related. Great idea!
This graphing math pack is a must have!!! This unit runs for one week and includes everything you need to teach data management. My students love graphing and many children grasp the basic concept of graphing fairly quickly. The next step is to get your students to think deeper and analyse the data. This package will have your students graphing and answering questions using the data from the graph. You will be amazed by your students' progress in just one week!
I am not a fan of loose papers so I staple the tracking sheet and all the activity sheets together to create a booklet. On the front of the tracking sheet I record any observations I have made and I record the child`s success (or struggles). At the end of the week the booklet is sent home for parents. They really appreciate being kept up-to-date with their child`s progress and the booklet is a great review for the end of unit test. You can tear off or copy of the tracking sheet if you want to keep it for documentation or you can send it home. Whatever works best for you!
Included:
*a math tracking sheet
*colourful data picture cards for 5 math tubs
*activity sheets for 5 math tubs
*success criteria cards
*success criteria examples to be displayed with your anchor chart
*title, labels, and scale bubbles to remind your students to label the graph
*center label cards
*assessment and rubric
This is one of my favourite math units to teach. I really hope you and your students love this unit as much as my class did!
My kids and I loved the winter themed graphing unit so I know they'll love this for some springtime review! I'm printing the bugs data cards as I type. ;-) I love the addition of the assessment. Thanks for another fantastic product!

Hi! I am wondering if this unit is all bar graphs for the activities? I saw that your other unit has pie graph as well and I am trying to decide which one to download. Thanks!
Hi there,
My "Great Graphs" unit is only bar graphs. The set up of all my graphing units is basically the same in terms of how the questions are worded. The kids always love graphing! Thanks for the question.

Hi! I am wondering if this unit comes with a lesson plan or set of instructions for implementation? Thanks!
Hi! This packet is meant to be used as 5 different math centers. I put my class into 5 groups and each day they rotated to a new graphing activity. Each center comes with its own set of data cards to be graphed and a recording worksheet. The children must count and tally the data, make a bar graph, label the parts of a graph, and answer questions using the data. I have also included an anchor chart and the success criteria. I included the tracking sheet I use for the week so that I can track the students progress or struggles. I make a booklet with the tracking sheet and a copy of each of the worksheets. Each student is given a booklet for the week. The graphics help the students to know which graphing page they are to complete each day. I hope this answers your question:)
Bye for now,
Natalie
