This is an arts integrated lesson that teaches symmetry in plane shapes. Students also learn about Kandinsky and his art. The students will also create an original piece of art and determine the symmetry in their own artwork. This file includes 12 slides for the lesson plus 3 additional pages that can be printed for a quick assessment and rubric for the artwork.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I teach a k-5 self-contained classroom for children with special needs. It's very much like the old one room schoolhouse. I taught a resource classroom from 1999-2004. I've been in my one room schoolhouse since 2004. I am privileged to teach in an arts integrated, Title I school. We use the arts to teach the core academic standards.
