Have you always wanted to use portfolio assessments in your classroom but didn't know how? This is the outline of a growth portfolio program I have successfully instituted in my classroom for the last few years.
This download will include:
1) An instructional outline for you to follow throughout the school year month by month
2) The Portfolio Requirements page given to each student at the start of the school year
3) The Portfolio Feedback Form I use to check in with the students regarding their portfolio
4) The guidelines the students use for the "organizational portfolio days" once every six weeks
5) A sample portfolio reflection that can be easily altered to fit your classroom's needs
I understand how overwhelming it can be to institute a portfolio program...please feel free to email me with any questions! I'm no expert, but I have definitely learned a lot through trial and error and truly feel this is a wonderful assessment piece to have as a part of any classroom!!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my ninth year teaching, although I don't know where the time has gone! I've taught in both 4th and 5th grade self-contained classrooms in private, Catholic schools, but have worked as a student teacher in public schools, too. In addition, I've worked as a tutor for students ages 5-17 in both language arts and math. I also have taught fifth grade Catholic Faith Formation. I love teaching and can't imagine myself in any other profession!
