This is a lesson plan I developed for Second Grade called "Guess my Monster." The activity was born out of a desire to teach the concept of adjectives to 2nd grade students in a fun way that also satisfied Technology TEKS. The movie "Monsters, Inc." had just come out, and so this lesson was a "roaring" success. ;-)

When I was working on my Master Technology Teacher Certification, I fleshed out the lesson plan.

In this activity, student create their own monster on the computer, and practice writing descriptive sentences with lots of great adjectives. The final product should definitely be displayed in the hallway or on the classroom wall.

The lesson plan is 8 pages long and includes Texas TEKS, modifications for age and ability, a rubric, and detailed instructions. The target for this lesson is 2nd grade, but it can be easily adapted down to K or up to 5th.
