I use a theme called, Reading Racers, in my classroom to help children learn High Frequency Words. I have compiled a list of 160 words broken into lists of 8 words at a time. Students earn awards as they master reading and spelling these word lists. A class chart makes the challenge exciting. The cards should be printed on white cardstock paper. I keep the cards on the sheets since I have developed game boxes for each list; however, the cards can be cut and laminated for durability and display.
