A 25-year teaching veteran with a Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities and National Board Certification in Adolescent Social Studies, Cary Nadzak has taught an array of subjects ranging from world history to algebra. For the first 23 years of her career, she taught at R.B. Stall High School in North Charleston, South Carolina, where shewas chosen as a model classroom teacher, a 2005 teacher of the year, and a Charleston County top-ten finalist. Ready for a new adventure, she signed on as a Fort Dorchester High School Patriot in 2007 and taught in their social studies department. She currently serves as a Social Studies High School Interventionist for Dorchester Two Schools. Ms. Nadzak has collaborated with high-school educators in designing common course syllabi and curriculum programs. Her best-practices workshops for high-school faculties and at High Schools That Work conferences have held standing-room-only crowds. As a South Carolina State Teacher Specialist, she mentored new and veteran teachers while modeling engaging classroom strategies.
