I created these activities for my students to practice the two different sounds that c makes (hard like /k/ and soft like /s/).
Basically, students will help Farmer Mac sort out the bees into two hives based on the sounds that the c makes in the words they carry. There are two sheets. The first sheet has a list of words. The students will read the words, color them, and then write the in blanks in their respective hives on the next page.
This discounted pack includes two similar activities. The first activity has easier words to read than the second. Use them for tiered practice, center work, classwork and homework, etc.
I also have similar hard and soft g activities on my site.
This activity includes 8 pages.
Page 1 is a letter to the customer with an overview of activity
Page 2 is the introduction for the student with background story.
Page 3 has the words that need to be sorted.
Page 4 has the hives that the words get sorted into and written in blanks.
Page 5 is the answer key.
Page 6 is the second set of harder words that need to be sorted.
Page 7 has the hives that the second set of words get sorted into and written in blanks.
Page 8 is the answer key for the second set.

This is my fourth year teaching third grade although I have been working work children over a decade. I have taught multiple grade levels between pre-k and 6th. I have also taught general education classes, inclusion classes, and I usually have the ELLs in my classes as well.
