This two week unit follows the best teaching methods outlined in Project Glad (Guided Language Acquisition Design (http://www.projectglad.com/) including poems, interactive text response journal, team building and the four types of reading and writing. The heroes studied in the unit are: Thomas Edison, Louise Braille, Roberto Clemente, Eleanor Roosevelt and Yoshiko Uchida. This unit will provide students at all levels of English proficiency to read, write and share out information they are learning through interactive lessons, scaffolding, and differentiation.
