You are familiar with the work of Joseph Campbell and The Hero's Journey and you know The Odyssey is the basis of Campbell's work but how do you show this to students? This PowerPoint does all the work for you! All you need to do is print the included pdf student study guides and present the PowerPoint.
The PowerPoint compares The Odyssey, Harry Potter and The Wizard of Oz. It gives you all the information you need, great pictures, and student study guides with keys. The end of the PowerPoint includes a graphic organizer, with key, for Star Wars so you can follow it all up with the video Star Wars. However, if you have access to The History Channel's "Star Wars The Legacy Revealed" DVD even better!
We've spent years developing and refining this presentation, tweaking and adding! We use this with middle school students but it is appropriate for high school students too.
