This pack is crammed full of reading and spelling activities and games to keep children
engaged in the learning and consolidation of high frequency words.
Most of the activities and games can be played independently by
small groups of children thus maximising the amount of time you
can spend with other groups and the time children spend working
with words.
The words included in the 12 lists in this pack are a combination of
words from Dolch Sight Word Lists, Fry's 300 Instant Sight Words
and 300 High Frequency Words, as well as color words, number
names, body parts and family members. Also included are 8 lists of
phrases using high frequency words to give extra word practise.
The word lists have all been constructed in flashcard layout so that
they are easy to photocopy and cut up for use with the games and
for extra consolidation at home. Should you wish to create larger
cards for use with a group of children you can do so by enlarging
each list to A3 and copying onto card and laminating for extra
strength.
Some of the activities are worksheet based and others are games.
The game boards are best copied onto card and laminated so that
they are more durable. For all the activities you will need to select a
relevant word list and ensure that you have cards available for the

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught in an independent school in Port Elizabeth, South Africa for 16 years prior to the birth of my daughter.
