A new twist on a biography! Students use the facebook template to create a facebook page on any historical figure. There is a sample of a facebook page for Abraham Lincoln included! Directions that are more specific are now included in the download. My kids just cut and pasted the pics and wrote the information, I enlarged the template to 11x17 size on the copier and darkened the text using the copier settings. They had an absolute blast with this one!!!!!

Great idea! I love using something that the kids have "background knowledge" on to make it relevant. The only thing I'll do is actually place text boxes on top of the places students should "write" and allow them to type directly on the template.

Not sure what indyweekly is, but this is a FREE product intended for teachers to use as an alternative to typical biographies on historical figures. I included photos of examples my students created and it was simply an idea I thought other teachers could take and run with in their own classrooms. Sorry you were disappointed, it only cost you a couple cents for the paper to print it on...

Wow! This idea is a perfect example of modern technology being put to its best use. It practically erases the "glumble factor" by drawing students into familiar territory, but it still requires fact gathering, organizing, applied knowledge, etc. Beats the standard "Write a report about. . . " hands down! And it's free!

I downloaded it and tried to work with it, but I'm having "operator error" problems. I'm an active FaceBook user, so I'm familiar with the concepts, but am having trouble entering stuff on the form.
