Holiday Traditions from Around the World - A unit of holiday traditions celebrated around the winter during the winter months.
When teaching this activity, I make a book using construction paper - binding it at the top. Glue the first page to the front creating your cover. Next 9 pages get glued inside the book at the top of each page turn. Final page, where students illustrate a holiday tradition of their own, gets glued to the back.
You can see this and other products I have created at www.treasuresforteachers.com
The 8 information pages get glued to the top and an art actvity matching the information is completed on the bottom.
Pictures of this book completed can be seen on my web site at www.treasuresforteachers.com
Holidays and traditions studied include: Christmas Tree, Chinese New Year, Poinsetta, Hanukkah, Santa Lucia, Kwanzaa, La Befana, Sinterklaas, and Pere Noel.
