The answers to this puzzle are pairs of homophones beginning with O, P, or R. In parentheses after each clue is the clue number of that homophone’s partner. For example, clue 27 Across and clue 25 Down are homophones. Clue 27 Across reads like this: BEFORE THE PRESENT (25D). Clue 25 Down reads like this: WENT BY (27A). The answer to 27A is PAST; the answer to 25D is PASSED--homophones! Students won’t know all the answers, but they can use one homophone to help solve the other. A fun spelling workout and a very unique approach to learning homophones!
