I love Pirates and Pirate Stories...and so do my students! This mini-unit includes several extension activities to use with the book "How I Became a Pirate." Please download the preview file. The unit includes a Crack the Code page for reviewing basic math facts, explanations of Pirate phrases/lingo, a Pirate Tree Map, a Pirate Bubble Map, and pages for creating a treasure map and for creative writing. I just purchased this and some of the pages have things blacked out and they don't show up. For example the phrases page has no phrases, just the title & instructions.
