I am on my 7th year of teach first grade. In that time, I have worked with 90% ESL students. I have worked three years on a District Curriculum Mapping team. On this team I build the science curriculum for grades K-5. I developed learning activities, assessments, and found resources for teachers to use in their instruction. I have been trained in SIOP method of instruction and RTI. This past year I served on our district ELA curriculum task force. On this team we discussed how we can close the gaps in our ELA program. I have started my masters in Reading at Eastern Michigan University.
