The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins COMPLETE Common Core Standards-Based Novel Unit - The #1 Best Seller and Best Selling Product on TeachersPayTeachers!
Aligned with the Common Core Standards for grades 6-12 in English/Language Arts, including reading literature/informational, writing, speaking and listening, and language. I included a chart with every standard that is taught in each of the activities.
Updated to include additional files: Discussion Questions & Answers, Food Symbolism, Hunger Games Quotes, an updated "Theme, Setting, Symbolism" file with additional maps of Panem, a third Powerpoint review game, Hunger Games Project Ideas, Updated Vocabulary puzzles, and the Hunger Games Figurative Language handout. This is a comprehensive literature guide for the entire novel.
This does NOT include the Hunger Games Introduction & Visual Guide powerpoint; however, I just recently made it available as a digital download. It is an excellent compliment to the unit and includes student handouts in both PDF and Word formats. It's available on the shipped CD (below) OR in a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD
If you are interested in the Unit on CD--which has most of the files in three formats (Word, PDF, and iWork Pages for Mac), please see the listing here:

I've been teaching at my current public high school for ten years, and have a total of 14 years experience. Most of my experience is teaching high school English and journalism classes; however, for several years I taught an art history class. I teach all levels--from honors students to special education students; therefore, I'm constantly modifying my assignments to fit my students' needs.
