I told students today..."You are the main character in your own life!" ...because while in the middle of Lucy's Book Characters reading unit of study, I'm noticing that while reading fiction stories, students are having a hard time answering the question, "What is an event? First event? Next event? Etc." That's an interesting word we use a lot "event"-- but abstract enough to cause challenges. Soooo, I created this graphic organizer as a way to get them to analyze the events in their own day to help them determine the events of the book characters they are reading. I also added title and book pages if students wanted to use the graphic organizer as a template, then write about their day's events "across the pages."
