This I Have, Who Has...Segmenting and Blending Short A game set will put your students on the path to becoming expert decoders.
This game includes 30 student cards and was carefully designed to review the short /a/ vowel sound and all consonant sounds except for k and q.
Use this game as a daily, whole-class warm-up to your reading time, a ticket out the door, or as an intervention activity with a small group (each student would receive more than one card in this instance). Your students will love this fun, purposeful game!
The complete short vowel game bundle is available HERE.
My students love these games, and they have really reinforced their letter/sound knowledge.
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I have had the hardest time finding segmenting activities that my students will like and don't require hours of prep time. This is perfect!
My kids love these games. It does take some practice. So, definitely don't give up if the first time doesn't go smoothly. It is worth having some patience here. Best wishes.
You are welcome. I'm glad you like it. Thanks for leaving such a kind comment.

This is so well done, and I am thankful that it's free! I can't wait to use it with my firsties at the beginning of the year to review short vowel sounds. I also like how it incorporates blending and segmenting, which will hopefully help them on DIBELS. Thank you so much! :)
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I have used DIBELS in the past and can see this game really helping their "nonsense word" decoding. Thanks again for taking the time to let me know that you liked this download.
