Students will estimate and record how many ice cream scoops long they believe the object is. Then, using the rulers students will measure and record.
I have included 2 different rulers so you can choose the appropriate level for your class. I have included them in color and in black and white. Students could color the black and white ones to each have their own.
Two versions of the recording sheet are included. A black and white one for photocopying and a color one if you chose to laminate and use with a dry erase marker at a work station.
An 'I can...' card is included to build independence.
For a challenge encourage students to use their rulers and measure objects around the classroom. This activity could also be done with a standard ruler.
