My students did a great job with using these picture cards. I had them use describing words about their setting or character and then had the class have to guess who/where they were.

I love these! The week that I taught characters and settings I used them to sort in the pocket chart center. Now I am using them in the writing center for students to pick a main character, a secondary character, and a setting or two to write a story.

I've been teaching for 26 years, with the majority of my experience being in first grade. I taught Reading Recovery for 5 years, and that experience has impacted every day of my teaching since! For the past 10 years, I've enjoyed teaching a first grade literacy intervention class. It has also been my privilege to present various workshops on literacy topics at the local, state, and national level. My goal is to ignite a passion for reading and writing in young learners.
