Idioms Interactive PowerPoint. Definition of an idiom, example of an idiom, and 20 idioms with four possible meanings. Students can decide on the correct answer, then check. This PowerPoint can be used at a computer station or interactively with the whole class. Students have to be exposed to idioms in order to achieve greater comprehension. Enjoy!

Used this as a mini-lesson to introduce students to idioms. The numerous examples really helped them to understand what they are. It led right into the students illustrating an idiom and explaining what it really means. Great!

I have a total of 21 years teaching experience. After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida, I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5 and a section of K-1. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I decided to go up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am currently teaching 7th grade where I seem to have found my niche. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as in Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am also certified as a Teacher Support Specialist. I have an endorsement as a Reading Specialist K-12, and I also completed my Gifted and Talented Endorsement.
