Idioms Search - Find the Idioms in the Story Handout. This handout is a short story filled with 20 idioms. Students must first answer questions about idioms and figurative language, and then use a highlighter or colored pencils to find the idioms embedded in the story. I have a total of 21 years teaching experience. After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida, I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5 and a section of K-1. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I decided to go up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am currently teaching 7th grade where I seem to have found my niche. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as in Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am also certified as a Teacher Support Specialist. I have an endorsement as a Reading Specialist K-12, and I also completed my Gifted and Talented Endorsement.
