Idioms Task Cards: 3 Set Bundle (96 Cards Total) for CCS L.4.5 and L.5.5

SELLER
Use these 3 sets of Idiom Task Cards (32 cards per set for 96 cards total) to help your students learn the meanings of common idioms. In addition to the question cards, there is also a Challenge Card that can be used with every other card in the set to extend the activity. The Challenge Card requires students to write a short paragraph using the idiom on the card. A student answer sheet is included as well as answer keys so students can check their work. The multiple choice format make these cards great for test prep. Use at centers, in pairs or small groups or with your entire class using a game like Scoot.
The cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.

L.4.5. and L.5.5 Demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word meanings.

These cards are fabulous! I wrote the answers on the back of the cards and put them in a pile. Then I got a game board and a die, and paired my students up to compete against each other. Player one had to read the card, answer the question, and explain why they chose that answer. If they were correct they could roll the die and move that many spaces on the board. If they were not correct, then it was the other players turn. These cards are perfect for this and the students don't even realize they are learning.

I am having the same problems as dhacker and pwrmom 1621 who asked questions below. I have downloaded the Titania font AND have Zipeg to open the compressed zip file. Neither one work. The idiom is missing and only shows a black line where the idiom should be. The rest of the card looks fine. Please help! I bought the whole bundle, but it doesn't open right for me. Thanks!

I am getting a strange message regarding Adobe and its inability to download this file when I try to download. It states that "Adobe Reader could not open it because it is not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

I'm having trouble downloading the Idiom cards to download on a MAC. Our technologist has helped me try it with Adobe and Preview, but the idiom itself comes out as black bars. The answer choices below are fine however. Help!

Most of my teaching experience is with gifted and talented students in grades 2-4, though I have worked with children of all ages in general education classrooms as well. A few years ago I stopped teaching in order to write nonfiction children's books full time.
