This activity includes 60 igloo CVC word mats for students to build words with magnetic letters, plastic letters or dry erase markers. Each igloo has a picture of a short vowel sound word. Students will practice segmenting and blending words as they build CVC words. This activity is also great practice for letter sound and letter recognition. So many beginning reading skills in just one activity! Use in your Literacy Workstation or Reading Centers. Students can work together or independently. Perfect addition to your Winter Thematic Unit.
