This page is great to help young children learn to add to their writing to make it more interesting and less repetitive. It is a simple and easy tool for kids to utilize. Included in the pack is an 8 1/2 x 11 page as a personal page for kids, and an 11 x 17 page that can be used as a poster.

I print enough copies for the entire class in color. I then put the reference page into a sheet protector that goes into a durable, plastic folder for each child and I'm able to keep the folders with the reference page for next year's class.

Check out some of my other items like my Spelling Dictionary and the Write, Revise, & Edit Checklist. These will help students become independent with their spelling and editing skills.

Hilary,
I teach second grade in Indiana. My partner and I notice you have some Daily 5 pages. Do you have a classroom where Daily 5 is in operation? What grade? We would like to visit a second grade and just watch the normal operation for Daily 5. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much!

Hi! Yes I sure do use the daily 5 in my 2nd grade classroom! I absolutely LOVE IT! It has made my life so much easier! I'd love for you to come and visit. Where in Indiana are you? Carmel is just north of Indianapolis. Why don't you shoot me an email and we can talk more. hilary35t@gmail.com

LOL oops...sorry about that! That is for the kids to check that there sentences vary in length. Some sentences can be short, some can be long, but they need to vary. Thanks for that question...good one!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 25 years. I have taught kindergarten and 1st grade...then began to loop with 2nd and 3rd graders. I absolutely loved looping! It was so exciting to watch the growth in those little buggers over a two year period....and talk about getting attached! Those little people, their families and I became very close. We stopped looping a few years ago when we changed principals. I'm trying to talk my new principal into letting me team teach with a friend....we just want to knock out one of the walls!
