This is the time of the year when the kids begin to think about all the things they don't have. To help them realize how much they do have, help the students to create an I'm Thankful or Look how blessed we are wall or bulletin board. Have the students focus on what they do have or what they can do to help others. Students can write a one word answer or a few sentences to explain what they have. You can also see how many I'm thankful cards the students can create. Set a goal, and see if your class can reach 50, 100, or more things to celebrate that they have. They may need to be reminded that the best things in life are free!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I teach a k-5 self-contained classroom for children with special needs. It's very much like the old one room schoolhouse. I taught a resource classroom from 1999-2004. I've been in my one room schoolhouse since 2004. I am privileged to teach in an arts integrated, Title I school. We use the arts to teach the core academic standards.
