These books support Kathy Griffin's "I'm Working on My Strategies to Read" .mov file. There are 4 versions to this file. There is a big book version, an 8 1/2 X 11 book to use for independent reading or in the listening center. The smaller version books are for guided reading groups or to use as homework. These smaller books reduce the amount of copies needed. Print the books then cut in half to make 2 books. The last is a song sheet to use in a song folder to increase fluency and can be used in the classroom or as homework to help parents understand the strategies children need to use when reading.

Kathy has also created a multimedia file and song to complement these books. Look for them on Kathy Griffin's TPT store. Use the multimedia file on your digital projector, Smart Board, interactive whiteboard, or student computers. Use the song and books in the listening center. Differentiate to meet the needs of your students on grade level, struggling readers, or those who are ready for the next challenge.

Great Alicia. I print the big book and use as posters on one of my bulletin boards as we learn them. I glue them on the back of blue 12 x 17 construction paper, laminate, and then hang up in my room. Thanks for leaving feedback as always. You're the best!

Kathy has 15 years teaching experience and currently teaches 1st grade. She has experience teaching in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. Kathy also worked for the OK State Department of Education on a grant for including children with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.
