Students can use this diamante poem form to write a poem about Jackie Robinson after reading the novel In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson. The formula for the poem is written as well as the diamond-shaped template for writing. These poems can be displayed on a bulletin board or wall.
It's a great novel to read at any time of the year. World Series time would be great as well as the Chinese New Year and African American History month.
