Students have 9 choices for reflection after completing independent reading including plot and character analysis, figurative language interpretation, theme, setting, and connections. I have students complete their reflections in journals, but have also included a separate sheet that might be handy for a weekly homework reflection journal. Students' goal is to complete a winning tic tac toe pattern by the end of our five day rotation. Hope this can be of use in your classroom!

I really like this. The students can do independent reading and then respond to one of the prompts. This is not just busy work, but requires the student to actually think about the story. Thanks for the freebie!

Fantastic! I love that this is a combination of so many REading Workshop skills in a small spot, but also providing choice for the reader. Perfect for responses in Reading Notebook.
Thanks! Great idea! I think the topics for each square are a little difficult to read, but I will just color them in with sharpie to make them more clear! I love the topics and the concept and how it is not an overwhelming task!
Thanks for the specific feedback! I noticed that as well when I finally printed them out a week or so ago to use them...Will select a different font. :0) Thanks again.
