I created this 2-page worksheet with illustrations to define and describes the Industrial Revolution for my high school students. It addresses the Enclosure Movement in England, inventions such as the Spinning Jenny and Cotton Gin which revolutionized the cotton cloth textile industry, the invention of the steam engine, and the development of railroads. It lists reasons why this revolution began in England and addresses the development of labor unions. A "matching" section forces the student to analyze cause and effect for more than a dozen developments, such as how the Napoleonic Wars caused France to lag behind in industrialization. Special emphasis on the depletion of natural resources as an effect of industrialization. The most compact and complete introduction/summary of the Industrial Revolution you will find! All answers included on "key".
