Learn from my fail is a great way to teach inference skills
In this activity I have provided 58 instances in which the students must:
Infer what mistake (fail) the person has made.
-Or-
Infer what has happened as a result of the mistake (fail).
For Example: When doing a craft project, if your hot glue gun slips off the work table, don't try to catch it. #LFMF
Inference: Someone tried to catch a hot glue gun when it fell and they burned their hand badly
The kids laugh and laugh every year when I pull this activity out, and best of all it really seems to do the trick!
I used this as part of a larger unit on inference with my 9th grade students. They loved it! This activity made them laugh and got them to participate in discussing the inferences with enthusiasm. Thank you!
