Task Card Sets included:
Nonfiction Text Features (text feature definitions and activities to use with nonfiction books that you provide)
Informational Text Features (multiple choice cards to help students understand each of the different text features). Note that these same cards with the word "Nonfiction instead of "Informational Text" are also included for those not using CCSS.

I purchased every single language art task cards last night you have available for fifth grade! I can't wait to use all of them next year. Printed them off all at school today and am waiting for the laminator to be filled so that I can keep them nice and clean! Am using one set tomorrow! Next up to buy...all math task cards!

These cards are fabulous! I wrote the answers on the back of the cards and put them in a pile. Then I got a game board and a die, and paired my students up to compete against each other. Player one had to read the card, answer the question, and explain why they chose that answer. If they were correct they could roll the die and move that many spaces on the board. If they were not correct, then it was the other players turn. These cards are perfect for this and the students don't even realize they are learning.

This is another A+ packet from Ms. Lynette. I used it for a 2 week project where we broke up her cards and dissected a nonfiction book and then created our own book with our findings. I then used the multiple choice to assess their learning. Most grades were in the 90s+.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Most of my teaching experience is with gifted and talented students in grades 2-4, though I have worked with children of all ages in general education classrooms as well. A few years ago I stopped teaching in order to write nonfiction children's books full time. Gradually over the last couple of years, my career has switched from writing to creating teaching materials here on Teacher Pay Teacher. I love creating teaching products (most recently task cards) and feel just as passionate about my work now as I did when I was teaching. I also love knowing that my products help thousands of teachers and reach tens of thousands of students.
