These 23 interactive games can be used at a computer, with the whiteboard or an MPC cart. Created by Kathy Applebee, they can be used for review of the science 6 SOLs for Virginia or comparable classes.
Type in the URL and play. Rags to Riches are similar to Who Wants to be a Millionaire, challenge board is like Jeopardy and the cloze activities have multiple choice drop down menus.
Topics include cells, organs and systems, resources, genetics & heredity, populations, organism needs, food chains, interdisciplinary vocabulary activities and more.

I love the format of the rags to riches. Could you share or do you have a template for sale so I can make my own game with the questions I need. I teach 9th grade geography and don't see the content I need. I love that it has the scoring and the hints and all. Please let me know.

I make them using Quia - a subscription based program. It is $49/year and to me well worth it for the 3 years I have had it. Quia.com is the website. You can get a free 30 day trial. If the trial allows you to search for activities others have made ask for Geopgraphy by Mr. Bowerman - he has some fantastic games up there. http://www.quia.com/pages/all.html is a web page listing all of his games. Plus you canconvert the games to quizzes and if you choose sertain question types (T/F, MC, ordered list, etc) it will grade it for you and keep track of all the results. Besides the traditional classroom I have taught in the prison system, residential mental health facilities and in theaters across the country. Currently I work in alternative education at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Suffolk, Virginia. I teach English and science for grades 4-8.
