Nine slides guiding students through the exploration of variables. You will start with a demonstration to build students' background and observe what an Alka Seltzer rocket is (three times). After discussing the term variable, students brainstorm variable changes for a targeted testable questions, conduct test, and meet for a class discussion. These slides walk you and your class through the whole process. A lot of fun and a memorable experience...take pictures!
Thank you! I really like this idea and a good way to introduce variables. I have done this project before, but needed to add some "meat" to it. The powerpoint is good, but some of the pictures are a little too busy which makes it hard to see some of the text.
i would have liked to have a little more background on rockets in this, but my kids enjoyed it and i plan on following up with another experiment on variables ..thank you!
This wasn't quite what I thought it was. I already do these rockets with my kids for our space unit, but because it's getting so hard to find film canisters (everyone shoots digital these days), I was hoping to get another idea...
I tried to title the product clearly, letting the buyer know the objective was using the rockets to develop understanding of variables. Steve spangler actually sells the canisters in a kit that can be reused for many years also.
