The purpose of INTRODUCTION TO GOOD SPEECH is to help students understand the basic components of good speech. I created this guide for students as part of a course in oral presentation skills. I explain the importance of good posture and relaxation in speech production. I also explain briefly the difference between consonants and vowel sounds and how they are produced. Most of all I developed this guide book to create awareness of the technicalities of vocal production in a fun way that will interest and engage students. The topics in this 12-page guide are:
1. Stand tall, stand free [Posture]
2. Free & Easy [Relaxation]
3. Inhale-Exhale [Breathing]
4. Sound or Silence? [Organs of Articulation]
5. Oohs and Ahs [Resonator Scale]
6. Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum [Speech Drills]
7. Go Tell Everyone [Projection]
8. Oh Really? [Modulation]
9. Mini Glossary of Speech Terms
